JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a part-time Medicinal Chemistry Consultant to offer senior scientific-level expertise in drug discovery and development for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Blueprint Neurotherapeutics Network. This role involves providing technical guidance, evaluating SAR data, advising on Medicinal Chemistry programs, and collaborating with NIH staff and other consultants to support neuroscience-focused drug discovery and development programs.
MAIN OBJECTIVES
- Provide senior-level Medicinal Chemistry expertise and technical guidance.
- Evaluate chemical structures, processes, and SAR data for neuroscience-focused projects.
- Collaborate with NIH staff and consultants to design and advise on Medicinal Chemistry programs.
- Review Medicinal Chemistry sections of regulatory filings and contribute to investigative study designs.
SCHEDULE OF WORK
- Part-time, with a minimum of 20 hours of support annually. Additional hours may be required based on project needs.
PLACE OF PERFORMANCE
- Primary work will be conducted remotely with occasional travel to NIH facilities or selected principal investigator facilities as needed.
PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE
- One-year base period with the possibility of extension.
QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD in Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in Medicinal Chemistry with a focus on drug discovery and development.
- Extensive experience in managing early development Medicinal Chemistry efforts.
- Experience with nervous system conditions, antibody conjugates, peptides, siRNA synthesis is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team and manage competing priorities.
