Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medication Technician (Med Tech) to join our team at Governor's Glen Memory Care Community. As a Med Tech, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents by accurately administering medications and providing support with activities of daily living. Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience as a Medication Aide or Medication Technician preferred
- Previous experience in a memory care or assisted living setting preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow medication protocols accurately
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards residents and their families
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer medications to residents according to prescribed dosages and schedules
- Monitor residents for any adverse reactions or side effects from medications
- Document medication administration accurately and maintain up-to-date records
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including grooming, bathing, and dressing, as needed
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a sense of community and belonging
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other team members to ensure comprehensive care plans are implemented effectively
- Participate in ongoing training and education to enhance skills and knowledge in medication management and dementia care
- Adhere to all state regulations and facility policies related to medication administration and resident care
