Medical Telephone Receptionist

Growing group orthopedic practice is looking for an energetic, flexible Telephone Receptionist to handle our phone calls. The right person needs to be highly organized and able to work in a fast paced environment. Great verbal and written communication skills are essential. Additionally, this person must be comfortable using a computer. Training will be provided as necessary.

Specific tasks may include but are not limited to

• Answer calls ringing at your phone extension promptly.
• Triage each call to appropriate department or staff member.
• Make appointments according to guidelines regarding provider, office, time
• Confirm insurance participation as needed with the billing department
• Take detailed messages intended for providers and send it to them for their review. Be sure they include all information necessary.
• Who—why--what--spellings of names---correct contact phone numbers
• Retrieve messages from answering service from prior night/weekend and triage these appropriately.
• Detail oriented with an ability to accept and respond to changes
