Performs simple and complex analyses on tissue, blood and bodily fluids using laboratory instrumentation, manual methods and procedures. Approves the performance of tests by technicians. Assumes accountability for patient tests by providing a high standard of quality, using independent judgment in the performance of standard operating procedures and complex instrumentation in varying sample environments.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology; or
- Bachelor's degree and one year of experience as a medical laboratory technician; or
- 90 semester hours of college credit with 24 semester hours of academic science and completion of an approved clinical laboratory training program; or
- Associate's degree and appropriate combination of training and experience.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Must possess either a temporary or current license as a State of Florida clinical laboratory technologist in the specialty(s) required for the job.
