Medical Technician

Adecco Medical & Science is hiring a Medical Technician in Everett, WA! This role is in person / onsite.
Type: Six-month contract, opportunity for extension
Schedule: 7:00 am -3:30pm or 8:30- 5:00 pm; Monday - Friday, every 4th weekend
Pay: $31.55 to $33.55 per hour
Specialty: Microbiology
Dress code: Scrubs, any color
Responsibilities of the Medical Technician:
· Read and interpret culture information based upon growth on culture plates.
· Read and interpret Gram stains, KOHs, calcofluor stains, AFB smears.
· Review susceptibility results and determine if they are acceptable for the organism identified and if not, take further steps to ensure they are. This includes quality control organisms.
· Able to perform molecular testing on the Hologic Panther, Quidel Solana, Alethia, Verigene, IDNOW and Aries instruments.
· Perform QC on reagents, media, test systems. Participate in proficiency testing. Field questions from providers and other users of the services of the Microbiology laboratory.
Qualifications for the Medical Technician:
· Bachelors degree in a science field or in medical laboratory sciences.
· Must be certified as either an MT/MLS/CLS by ASCP or as a categorical M or SM by ASCP.
· At least 3 years experience working in a clinical microbiology laboratory.
· Immunizations required: MMR, Flu shot, Varicella, TB Blood Test, Hep B., Tdap
