Job Title: Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse
Location: North Providence, RI
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to adult patients with acute medical conditions. The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing care plans, administering medication, and providing patient education. The successful candidate will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive comprehensive, coordinated care that addresses their physical, emotional, and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patient needs and develop care plans that address their physical, emotional, and mental health needs.
• Administer medication and monitor patients for side effects and adverse reactions.
• Provide patient education on medication use, disease management, and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive, coordinated care to patients.
• Monitor and document patient vital signs and medical history.
• Perform diagnostic tests and procedures as ordered by the physician.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide crisis intervention as necessary.
• Ensure that patients receive care in a safe, supportive environment.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety initiatives.
• Stay current with new and emerging research, treatments, and technologies in medical-surgical nursing.

Requirements:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical setting.
• Strong understanding of medical-surgical nursing principles and practices.
• Ability to assess and manage acute medical conditions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure.
• Familiarity with electronic health records and other healthcare information systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
• Certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing (CMSRN) from the Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Board (MSNCB) or other relevant certification.
• Experience with evidence-based medical-surgical interventions.
• Experience in a hospital or inpatient medical-surgical setting.

Working Conditions:
This position requires working in a medical-surgical setting, where exposure to infectious diseases and medical emergencies is possible. The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse may also be required to work evening or weekend shifts, depending on the needs of the facility.
