Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. As a business representative, the Operations Manager will drive development, execution, and implementation of a wide scope of projects and technology solutions. Projects may include system enhancements for key capability systems, process improvement or development solutions, the integration of innovative tools and platforms into core processes, and training development and delivery.
Reporting to the Sr. Manager/Director, Medical Strategy & Operations, the Operations Manager will partner with the Access & Use Evidence Generation capability and to cultivate cross-functional relationships with various stakeholders, including information systems and data & analytics partners, vendor support teams, the broader Performance Management team, and the business user community. Maintaining these strong relationships in a highly matrixed environment is pivotal for success.
There is a heavy emphasis on project management, process management & end user education in this role. A successful Operations Manager will be accountable for all global medical operations responsibilities, including process standardization, business ownership and maintenance of technology solutions, training business users, optimizing performance, driving efficiency, and delivering effective solutions. With a specific medical domain focus on Access & Use Evidence Generation (AUEG), this Operations Manager will work in partnership with AUEG framework leadership and the Performance Management team to execute the AUEG capability strategic roadmap.
The preferred candidate will possess excellent prioritization and communication skills, demonstrated project management experience, and a consistent track record of success in a compliance-driven environment. The AUEG Manager is a global role, so staying tuned in and responding to the needs of many different countries is key. The ability to develop strong cross-functional relationships and a continuous improvement attitude are essential to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
Leads and facilitates operational activities to plan, build, implement, launch and maintain the capability in accordance with strategy, vision, goals & roadmap
Owns the build/ assessment/ maintenance of the end to end capability (Process, Technology and Analytics) lifecycle management, upgrade and enhancements and working with Information Systems as a key partner in delivery
Leading project management activities – including planning, execution, change management, deployment, training, reporting and measuring – for an array of projects contributing to the successful execution of the AUEG capability’s roadmap
Drives user experience / acceptance testing for new technology builds and enhancements
Proactively communicate with all applicable teams across functions and geographies to ensure strategic alignment with capability plans & to seek opportunities for innovation and improvements
Owns relationship with offshore team to support the capability and end users
Develop, review and implement policies, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and associated technical documents as meaningful for capability.
Serve as business authority, advocate and point of contact on technology & process related issues within designated capability
Facilitate and participate in key governance forums and project sponsor meetings
Collaborate with analytics lead to identify, implement and manage the key performance indicators metrics, dashboards and other analytic needs
Continually assess the landscape and assess opportunities to improve, standardize or streamline the business capability
Partnering with the appropriate training experts and establishing pathways to assess and understand the educational needs of the capability audience (Operations Manager will own all relevant training materials and technology related to the capability’s systems/processes)
Manage and maintain all aspects of Access Management with off-shore support team
Support recruitment, coaching, mentoring and development of team members as appropriate

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree
OR
Master’s degree and 2 years of work experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of work experience
OR
Associates degree and 6 years of work experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 8 years of work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in life science, computer science, business administration, or related field
3+ years of work experience in project management (PMP or DASM certification preferred)
2+ years of experience with Salesforce, Veeva Vault, or similar technology platforms
Work experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences technology industry
Experience in leading systems or analytics projects
Strong understanding and experience in the use of performance management techniques, measures, problem solving, and analytical thinking
Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry guidelines, good clinical practice, good publication practice, compliance and regulatory guidelines, and legal/health system environment
Proficient in application software and analytical development methodologies in a validated system environment
Proficient in analytical and interpretation activities and able to present insights to a wide variety of audiences in both written and verbal formats
Effective working in a team/matrix environment
Experience in Medical Affairs is preferred
Strong demonstrated project management experience
Specialist knowledge / experience in life sciences, computer science or a medically related field
General biopharmaceutical clinical research experience obtained working on clinical trials at a biotech, pharmaceutical or CRO company

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
