Axelix Health Consulting, Inc. (AHCI), is a private medical specialty practice based in Mentor, OH serving Lake, Geauga, and Ashtabula counties. AHCI was incorporated in 2010 and has experienced exponential growth. The practice consists of three healthcare providers; one physician and two nurse practitioners. AHCI is a full electronic medical practice. The healthcare providers see patients in various hospital systems, nursing homes, outpatient clinics, and wound care centers.
The practice is currently seeking an individual to fill the position as a Medical Secretary with a medical background. The candidate will perform medical clerical duties such as; answering multiple phone lines, triaging calls, scheduling patients office appointment, scheduling patients for diagnostic imaging with facilities as ordered by the physician, obtain patients medical records from the appropriate referring physician/facility, scanning records/documents into patients charts etc. The candidate will act as a liaison between the physician and patient hence the medical assistant portion of the job. This will entail; knowledge of medical terminology, excellent patient care, triaging calls between patients and physician.

Job Description
- Answer multiple phone lines
- Schedule multiple office patient appointment and follow-ups
- Triage patient and facility calls as appropriate
- Act as a liaison between the patient and physician; Ensure patient calls, enquiries are communicated to the physician. Physician messages, orders etc are communicated in a timely manner to the patient.
- Obtain medical records from referring physicians or facility
- Electronically fax consult and progress note to referring physicians and PCP's
- Schedule patients for diagnostic imaging test as ordered by the physician
- Scan patients documents and medical records into the EMR system
- Sort through electronic fax inbox and attach documents to patients chart as appropriate.
- Faxing electronically or manually as needed
- Proper documentation in the EMR system
- Prepare front office prior to day of clinic
- Ordering supplies as needed for the practice
- Access various EMR system to obtain patient medical records
- Check in and check out patients on clinic days
- Enter patient demographic information into the system
- Collect co-pays and outstanding patient balances, and run payments
- Schedule office and pharmaceutical lunches
- Adhere to HIPPA policy at all times
