JOB SUMMARY: Maintains participant records in manual and electronic systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Arrives to work at the designated time and prepares work area before the start of business hours.
- Maintains forms needed for reception/Medical Records.
- Prepares electronic folders, dividers, and forms for participant records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Scans participant records into the EHR in the approved order.
- Retrieves and files participant records as needed and in a timely manner.
- Retrieves participant records for audit, quality improvement, and follow-up purposes.
- Controls access to the Medical Records according to established policy.
- Receives and sends faxes as needed and relays information to the appropriate department.
- Requests Medical Records from other providers as needed.
- Collaborates with other staff in maintaining electronic health records.
- Updates demographic information, when notified, in the EHR.
- Assists with filing and updating Adult Day Health Care records and forms.
- Answers the phone in the absence of the receptionist and Referrals and DME coordinator.
- Is courteous, polite and helpful to participants, staff, and the public.
- Participates in the Quality Improvement program.
- Member of the Medical Records Committee.
- Performs regular audits of the EHR and reports findings to the Medical Records Committee.
- Participates in staff meetings and in-service training sessions.
- Performs other duties as required.
