Job Overview
Under supervision, the Library Assistant is responsible for the clerical duties necessary to support the activities of the medical center's health science library and in maintaining a collection of materials.
Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of an Associate's degree in Library and Information Sciences or closely related field and one to two years of work related experience. Previous library related experience helpful. Work requires the analytical ability to gather and interpret data in situations where the information or problems are not overly difficult or complex. Work requires the ability to exchange information on factual matters, explain hospital policies and relay messages to appropriate personnel.
