Job Description:
- PURPOSE OF JOB: To perform clinical laboratory procedures necessary to assist in quality patient care and aid in the efficient and effective operation of the department.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Utilizes psychomotor and critical thinking skills to provide safe and
efficient direct patient care with consideration for age-specific
accommodations.
Interprets laboratory requests for testing.
Performs established laboratory testing procedures competently.
Interprets test results.
Utilizes criteria for acceptable specimens. Accessions specimens for proper disposition
Performs Phlebotomy/venipuncture using 2 patient identifiers prior to all blood draws.
Assists physician in performance of Bone Marrow Biopsy
Job Qualifications:
MLT, Associate Degree in Clinical Science, ASCP or equivalent preferred.
