Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for a Medical Lab Scientist/Medical Lab Tech

Location: Layton

Hours: Nights and Weekends

• Follow established laboratory procedures to perform routine and STAT clinical laboratory testing.
• Follow established quality control procedures for all tests including initiation of remedial action in out-of-control situations.
• Follow established Microbiology procedures to isolate, identify and, if indicated, perform susceptibility testing on significant clinical isolates.
• Perform routine maintenance procedures on laboratory analyzers.
• Perform all computer functions necessary to complete patient testing and specimen processing.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Laboratory Director and/or Laboratory Lead Tech.

Requirements:• Bachelors/Associates Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or in the biological/life sciences. Certification through a national certification agency (ASCP, AAB, AMT or NCA).
• General knowledge of laboratory testing principles and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of microbiology reagents and microbiological testing principles.
• Knowledge of laboratory quality control rules.
• Basic computer skills as required to successfully perform their job duties.
• Effective trouble shooting skills dealing with laboratory equipment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions related to patient testing.
