Insight Surgical Hospital is a small, friendly and minimally invasive surgical center and clinic with patient services second to none! We are proud of our fast-paced, patient-focused, team-oriented environment with professionals in neurology, orthopedics, pain management, chiropractic, gastroenterology, podiatry specialties and more. Every member of our team is crucial to the patient experience and our success! Our Hospital and Clinic do not treat general illnesses, including COVID-19, and has required health safety measures in place for everyone prior to entering the facility, including temperature and symptom checks, required PPE and other health hygiene measures.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of our Lab Manager, our meticulous and team orientedLab Technicianwill perform daily laboratory activities, while creating positive connections with both team members and patients. The Lab Technician ensures all Laboratory standards and policies are being upheld and strives for high quality results. The Lab Technician has the privilege of utilizing all laboratory equipment and is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and proper operation of said equipment. This person will also confirm client and specimen details, collect urine samples, and ascertain adequacy and appropriateness of specimens. The Lab Technician will ensure specimens are labeled and stored properly, while adhering to any and all standards to ensure compliance. Our Lab Technician position is patient facing, so top candidates are amiable and courteous, while being able to multitask and work autonomously with technical expertise.

Duties of our Lab Technician:
- Performs daily laboratory activities to include, but not limited to; instrument maintenance, specimen collection including blood draws, specimen processing, analyzing and results reporting.
- Participates in and assures that departmental performance improvement, quality controls, and reagent inventory meets standards.
- Monitors compliance in regard to CLIA, COLA and Joint Commission standards.
- Able to work under pressure and in situations that demand patience, tact, stamina and endurance.
- Demonstrates excellent patient care
- Performs high complexity testing efficiently and accurately
- Oversees Laboratory team members and work in the absence of leader or manager
- Performs other Laboratory duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S.
- ASCP Certified MLT or MLS preferred
- Associate’s Degree within a Science or related field required; Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
- Previous experience within a clinical laboratory or related work environment required
- Previous experience with Health Information Software or Laboratory Information Systems preferred
- Proficient with MS Office, Word, and Excel
- Demonstrates outstanding English communication skills, both written and verbal, to ensure patient safety
- Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own growth and advancement
- Ability to adhere to a high level of professionalism at all times
- Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to perform to a high level of accuracy
- Ability to handle biological materials
- Able to coordinate effectively with hospital staff; works well in a team
