Medical Lab Technician

Under the direction of the Director of Laboratory Services and Medical Director, the Medical Lab Technician, is responsible for accurately analyzing and reporting all laboratory tests ordered by the Medical Staff in a timely and efficient manner to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Maintains patient safety through attention to detail, equipment safety checks, adherence to department policies, and with effective communication with physicians, staff and patients. Displays professional, safe conduct in all interactions.

Education Required: 

Associate’s Degree preferably in a Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or Chemical, Physical, Biological Science

Licensure/Certification Required:

Certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) through a nationally recognized accredited agency (i.e. AMT, ASCP, ABOR)

BLS certification (through an approved AHA program)

Experience Required:

None

One (1) to Two (2) Years of lab experience preferred

Experience with Siemens and Beckman coulter instrumentation preferred
