We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Medical Technician specializing in Blood Chemistry and Hematology to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in performing a wide range of laboratory tests related to blood chemistry and hematology, with a strong preference for experience on Beckman Coulter instruments. This individual will play a critical role in analyzing blood samples, interpreting results, and contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory tests on blood samples to analyze levels of various substances, including but not limited to blood glucose, cholesterol, electrolytes, and hematological parameters.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, with a particular emphasis on Beckman Coulter instruments, ensuring accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Prepare reagents, calibrate instruments, and troubleshoot technical issues to maintain efficient laboratory operations.
- Interpret test results accurately, recognizing abnormalities and reporting findings to medical staff promptly.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide insights into patient conditions, contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders.
- Maintain meticulous records of laboratory tests, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Adhere to established protocols, safety procedures, and quality assurance measures to uphold the highest standards of patient care and laboratory practice.
- Stay updated on advances in laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and relevant scientific literature to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
- Participate in training and mentoring of laboratory staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting, with a focus on blood chemistry and hematology.
- Proven experience with Sysmex and Beckman Coulter instruments, including proficiency in operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of laboratory protocols, quality control procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA, CAP).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex laboratory data accurately.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
