International Translation Services LLC is a small business in Des Moines, IA. We are professional, nimble and rewarding. Our goal is to assist immigant communities by providing high quality language services to various medical, educational and legal clients.

We are seeking qualified interpreters for our interpretation agency. The ideal candidate will be able to work with a wide variety of populations, provide professional services and communicate effectively to patients who medical care.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and translate spoken and messages from one language to another.
- Sight translate written documents from one language to another.
- Provide people with a general introduction to your language and culture.
- Help people understand how to document their diagnosis and treatment.
- Educate health-care providers about the patient’s cultural, linguistic, and other needs.
We are seeking applicants who can provide interpretation in the following languages in the Des Moines area:
- Somali
- Pashto & Urdu
- Tigrinya & Amharic
- Nuer
- Kunama
- Karenni
We have very modest needs for other languages that might cover a few a appointments a year in.
- German
- Thai
- Krahn
- Chuukese
- Marshallese
We ar also looking for interpreters in other parts of the state. These are limited to:
- Spanish (all areas except Des Moines)
- French (Eastern Iowa - Cedar Rapids & Iowa City)
- Dari, Farsi & Pashto (Eastern Iowa - Cedar Rapids & Iowa City)

We will be posting for remote interpreters at a later date. Note: Due to regulatory and supervisory concerns, international candidates cannot be hired. All candidates for this posting should live and reside in the state of Iowa.
The position is part-time, contract only. This is not a remote position for phone or video interpreting and is not suitable for relocation due to the limited number of hours available.
