Job Title:Medical Guest Services
Department: Wildlife Hospital
Reports To: Assistant Medical Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: Responsible for completing a variety of Guest Services tasks including answering incoming phone calls, admitting wild animals to the hospital, greeting guests in the Discovery Center, providing back up for the gift shop, and collecting cash donations. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with people and is comfortable with animals. Weekends are required. This position may be filled as a part time or a full time position.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Admit animals and answer phones at the hospital front desk.
2. Assist staff members as requested, including but not limited to, inputting information in WRMD database, doing laundry and cleaning in hospital.
3. Collect and log cash donations from donation boxes.
4. Maintain a donation log spreadsheet from rehab facility, organize the donations, send an end of day report to Finance and deposit the donations into the designated safe.
5. Greet guests at Welcome Desk and Discovery Center as requested.
6. Provide advice to callers about sick, injured and orphaned wild animals.
7. Maintain a clean, tidy and organized work station.
8. Assist with the gift shop operations as needed.
9. Provide a positive customer experience.

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, database software, and point of sale system in gift shop.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training.
Specialized Training:
· Comfortable around animals
· Knowledge of Florida wildlife
· Experience with Microsoft suite, including Excel
Certificates and Licenses:
· Valid driver's license

This position is primarily stationed in the Sanctuary’s wildlife hospital. An employee will regularly be exposed to bleach and other chemicals required to maintain a sanitary hospital environment.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
A background check is required for this position.
