OMI MedTech is a leading provider of Medical Equipment and technology solutions dedicated to enhancing healthcare facilities across the United States. We are expanding our presence in Georgia and are seeking a dedicated and skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview:
As a Biomedical Equipment Technician at OMI MedTech, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of Medical Equipment at various healthcare facilities throughout the state of Georgia. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and calibrating a wide range of Medical Equipment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on Medical Equipment such as infusion pumps, ventilators, patient monitors, and diagnostic imaging devices.
Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues, making necessary repairs and replacements to ensure the safe and efficient operation of medical devices.
Calibrate and test equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance, service reports, and parts inventory.
Provide on-site technical support to healthcare staff and collaborate with clinical teams to address equipment-related concerns promptly.
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in biomedical technology and assist in the evaluation and implementation of new equipment.
Adhere to regulatory and safety guidelines, ensuring that all work is conducted in compliance with relevant industry standards and OMI MedTech policies.
Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and the support team to coordinate service requests and deliver timely solutions.
Qualifications:
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. An associate degree in biomedical technology or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician or in a similar role within the healthcare industry.
Strong technical and troubleshooting skills with a comprehensive understanding of Medical Equipment operation and maintenance.
Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards in healthcare, including The Joint Commission (TJC) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
A valid driver's license and the flexibility to travel within Georgia to various healthcare facilities.
Certification from a recognized institution, such as AAMI or CBET, is a plus.
