Description:

Provide comprehensive and continuing health and medical care services for adult and pediatric patients. Handle the full range of cases and problems in specialty, including the very difficult and complex. Cases are sometimes critical and require immediate decisions. Functions as consultant specialist to PIMC medical personnel and to physicians at Indian Health Service field hospitals. Participates in teaching activities as needed.


The Cass Lake Indian Health Service Unit is owned and operated by the Federal Government as a Public Health Service, Indian Health Service Facility. The Service Unit has an active user population of 12,000 clients and provides over 200 full-time jobs in the community. The Service Unit operates a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) and Outpatient Ambulatory Care Clinic that offers Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Radiology, Physical Therapy, Audiology, Podiatry, and Optometry Services. Cass Lake IHS also provides 24/7 access to Emergency Care services. The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe manages the Behavioral Health programs, Substance Abuse programs, a Diabetes CentER and Public Health Nursing at six community based clinics on the reservation.

Requirements:Requirements

1) Must have completed an Emergency Medicine residency.

2) American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM) Board Certified/Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physicians.

3) Must have an active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Arizona or one of the other 49 states in the USA, or the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

In addition to Board Certification the Indian Health Services requires current active Life Certifications listed below:

4) BLS (Basic Life Support)

5) ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

6) PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

7) ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support)


for UC:

LICENSURE/REGISTRATION. Non-personal services contract personnel providing care at the IHS facility must maintain a current active and unrestricted license in at least one of the 50 United States or US territories.

CERTIFICATION. American Board of Family Medicine Board Certified or American Board of Internal Medicine.

FORMAL EDUCATION. The provider must show proof of graduation from an accredited school of their profession.

EXPERIENCE. The Provider must have a minimum of 3 years of experience within Family Medicine within the past 36 months

Maintain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Computer efficiency required. Preferred Electronic Health Record experience
