Job Summary:

The Data Entry Specialist performs a variety of clerical duties: sorting and renaming incoming faxes, scanning documents, filing, Data Entry, and answering phones. The Data Entry Specialist must be able to work well independently as well as within a team setting on different projects.  This position is responsible for processing high volumes of data for extended periods of time. The Data Entry Specialist assumes all other responsibilities as assigned by their department leader.

Pay and Benefits:

Pay: New employees to this role can expect to be offered $17.16 - $19.00 per hour based on relevant experience, skills, and abilities.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Provide clerical/data-entry support to the department by performing duties including, but not limited to sorting, organizing, renaming files, importing/scanning files into EMR, and transcribing voicemails.

  2. Routine office administration tasks including answering phones/take messages, typing, faxing and keeping workstation area clean and organized.

  3. Check work e-mail daily.

  4. Maintain confidentiality of all center and patient information at all times, as required by facility policy and HIPAA guidelines.

  5. Follow the center exposure controls plan – at a minimum, employees should not report to work with symptoms consistent with an infectious disease.  Instructions and guidelines vary between sites (i.e. clinical vs non-clinical).

  6. Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education/Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • At least one year of medical office experience required.

  • At least three years of medical office experience preferred.

Job Knowledge/Skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Must be flexible.

  • Ability to use all related hardware and software.

  • Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in teamwork environment and have respectful behavior while working as a team with co-workers.

Physical Requirements

Work is classified as sedentary in physical requirements. Requires the ability to lift/carry 1-5 pounds frequently, occasionally 10 pounds maximum.

Mental Requirements

Work requires high attention to detail for extended periods of time.

Working/Environmental Conditions

Work environment consists of normal office or administrative working conditions.
