The Medical Courier and Reporting Services Coordinator position combines the responsibilities of a Medical Courier with those of a Reporting Services Coordinator to ensure the efficient and accurate delivery of medical specimens and the precise reporting of patient results. This role plays a vital part in supporting the smooth operation of healthcare services.

General Technical Duties:

· Plan and follow courier routes to ensure timely specimen pick-ups and deliveries.

· Meet deadlines in an effective and customer-oriented manner, addressing service issues professionally.

· Possess sufficient knowledge of laboratory coverage areas to service all accounts with ease.

· Communicate appropriately with supervisory, manager, pathologists and clients

· Operate the Gajema Scanner efficiently for tracking purposes.

Send slides/materials to pathologist.

Research containers, courier worklist records

· Accurately report patient results

Transcribe gross and final dictation

Enter reference lab results

· Accession specimens in Orchard LIS

· Accurately prepare paperwork and/or slides for send-off

Conference/Thoracic/Multidisciplinary Reviews

Release of patient materials for consults

Release of patient materials for continuing patient care

Release of patient materials for non-medical purposes

Reference lab testing

· Monitor result transmission logs

Resend faxes / EMR transmissions

· Call physician offices for missing or discrepant information received

· Accurately prepare billing information for Diligent

· Additional duties as assigned as needed.

Record-Keeping and Clerical Duties:

· Keep accurate records of beginning and ending mileage for vehicles.

· Utilize Atlas to print specimen manifests and prepare tracking information.

· Compile reports for each client and manage LabCorp reports, logging reference numbers.

· Assist with scanning and maintaining accurate records.

· Print and burst requisitions

· Monitor Quality Assurance (QA) logs, physician call logs, send-off logs, and consult logs.

· Maintain paperwork in accordance with record retention policies.

Additional Job Duties:

· Demonstrate knowledge of medical supplies and assist with packing lists.

· Drive for extended periods, practicing good ergonomic practices for sitting, standing, walking, and lifting.

· Ensure vehicles are clean inside and out and maintain them according to dealer specifications.

· Learn and apply basic medical terminology relevant to courier responsibilities.

· Attend annual safety training and participate in CAP (College of American Pathologists) compliance.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

· Understand and adhere to group and facility standards of practice, including safety, OSHA, CLIA, EPA, and HIPAA regulations.

· Comply with Celligent Diagnostics Compliance Plans, policies, and confidentiality requirements.

· Perform other related duties incidental to the general work duties, such as looking up reports, answering phones, and faxing reports.

· Attend required meetings, in-services, and training.

· Maintain relevant credentials and licensure (if applicable).

· Participate in Quality Assurance activities, collation, or reporting.

· Ensure the proper maintenance of equipment, provision of adequate supplies, and cleanliness of the laboratory and individual work areas.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time role, Monday through Friday, 9AM – 6PM. Medical Courier route 2 to 3 days a week; Reporting Services Coordinator work 2 to 3 days a week. Hours will vary according to the route schedule.

Education and Training Requirements:

· High School diploma.

· Satisfactory completion of a transcription course is preferred.

· Three years of relevant experience is also preferred.
