Job Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Medical Coding Regulatory Specialist for HCPro to teach our Certified Coder Boot Camps® and to develop and provide educational content offered through our Propel Coding Membership Services to clients. Candidates would also be expected to partner with fellow Regulatory Specialists and the HCPro product team to identify and launch new training resources, including boot camps, seminars, eLearning, webcasts, and books.
The Certified Coder Boot Camps® are varied in length for live (in-person) and virtual courses on Medical Coding for inpatient (ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS/DRGs), hospital outpatient and professional services (ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS II), and risk adjustment methodologies (CMS-HCCs) for hospitals, health systems and physicians. The courses are heavily focused on technical application and require a high level of expertise in coding. The courses are centered on the coding guidelines and associated source authorities such as, but not limited to, AHA’s Coding Clinic for ICD-10-CM/PCS, AMA’s CPT Assistant and the AHA’s Coding Clinic for HCPCS.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teaching HCPro’s Certified Coder Boot Camp® such as the Original Version (professional/outpatient), Inpatient Version, the Evaluation and Management Boot Camp® (professional).
- Developing and presenting custom educational sessions for Propel Coding Membership clients.
- Updating current coding content (boot camps, eLearning, handbooks) in concert with annual or other coding updates.
- Participation in sales calls for new or prospective Propel or onsite boot camp clients.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Represent company products in tradeshows, seminars, campaigns and other sales events.
- Assist in development of new products and enhancement of existing products to achieve company objectives.
- Recommend new products or improvements based on customer market and competitor activities.
- Stay abreast with industry and market trends.
- Researching and keeping up-to-date with coding guidelines and best practices
- Obtain and communicate customer feedback to product team.
- Maintain a strong market knowledge and cultivate relationships with sources and customers.
Qualifications:
- Professional credentials (CCS, CPC, CCS-P) required.
- Associate’s degree/bachelor’s degree in a health information/healthcare related field
- At least 5 years coding experience (ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS II, coverage, billing and reimbursement methodologies)
- At least 2 years of Medical Coding education experience.
- Must be a dynamic public speaker.
- Advanced professional credentials (RHIA, RHIT, RN, CEMC, CRC) desired
- Ability to travel required (25%)
