Job Description
The Billing Tech II is responsible for executing aspects of revenue cycle workflows for RCR Members/Customers to ensure optimal revenue collection while providing high-quality customer service as well as building relationships that facilitate Member confidence in OSIS and the organization’s team members.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Executes customer-specific revenue cycle workflows to accommodate federal, state, and payer-specific requirements, coding requirements, collection regulations, and requirements, and to ensure optimal collections. Includes but is not limited to charges and transactions, AR, patient and payer phone calls, coding and Electronic Remittance importing and reconciliation, rejections and denials, and appeals.
- Accesses Federal, State, and payer websites for revenue cycle tasks
- Participate in training plans and opportunities to enhance knowledge
- Researches and analyzes Federal, State, and Payer coding and billing requirements
- Strives to meet or exceed attainable daily/weekly/monthly goals
- Collaborates with other OSIS departments to meet the needs of the Members/RCR Customers within the mission and goals of OSIS
- Builds and maintains Member/RCR Customer and internal relationships to drive mutually beneficial solutions and drive positive Member/RCR Customer experiences
- Collaborates and actively participates on committees/workgroups
- Analysis of workflows and establishing best practices both in the use of NextGen PM and operationally; keeping up to date with various government regulatory updates that impact healthcare
- Serves as a mentor/resource for Tech I team members
- Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, scanners, copy machines, and filing cabinets.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This is largely a sedentary role, standing and lifting is not involved in the normal course of duties.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
TRAVEL:
- This position requires limited travel (5-10 days per year). Exceptions can be made.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 2+ years billing experience
- Experience with clearinghouses and healthcare portals
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- MS Excel
- FQHC billing experience
- Dental billing experience
- Behavioral Health billing experience
- NextGen EPM experience
- NextGen EDR experience
- NextGen Optical experience
TELECOMMUTING AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position is considered a remote position with full telecommuting privileges.
Must have:
- Cable or Fiber Internet Service
- Download speed of 20Mbps or higher
- Upload speed of 5Mbps or higher
