Come be part of the TheraSWIM family. We are a growing company that provides aquatic therapy, adaptive swim, and other therapy services to children with special needs. We are looking for a highly organized, experienced, internally motivated, and caring person to join our team as a Medical Biller.
Position description/requirements:
The Medical Biller will be have a key roll in ensuring that our company continues to meet the needs of our clients through comprehensive, passionate management of our billing. They will responsible for obtaining prior authorization for services, submitting claims, ensuring timely reimbursement, and maintaining patient records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of pediatric therapy billing processes, the Colorado Medicaid system, coding rules and regulations, and medical terminology.
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information
- Obtain prior authorizations as needed
- Submit claims to insurance companies and county-based funding sources electronically (primarily) or by mail (if necessary)
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resubmit as necessary
- Process payments from insurance companies, patients, and other payment sources
- Communicate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients regarding billing inquiries or issues
- Assist with insurance credentialing
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding guidelines
- Attend staff meetings and in person meetings regularly
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Medical Billing preferred
- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role
- Proficient in using medical billing software systems
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding system and medical terminology
- Familiarity with Pediatric OT/PT billing strongly preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
