Medical Biller

Cascade Eye & Skin Centers is seeking a full-time, Medical Biller/Accounts Receivable Specialist who will be responsible for posting, review and follow-up of medical claims in order to collect reimbursement provided by insurance companies.

This experienced candidate needs to be motivated and driven to achieve quality billing and collection results in a timely manner.

Must have Claims Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

Essential Duties

· Abide by insurance coding rules & regulations

· Resolve billing and customer issues

· Cross train with other billing staff to gain experience in new tasks

· Attend all required meetings to include in office and after hours as required

· Complete projects given by the Business Operations Manager and/or Business Operations Supervisor(s)

· Ability to assist and be trained on additional tasks as business needs arise

· Ability to review claims for posting accuracy

· Ability to process both insurance and patient refunds via appropriate methods as outlined by BOM/BOS

· Ability to post claim charges and allocate money

· Ability to post money to patient accounts

Language Skills

· Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and technical procedures

· Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and owners

Mathematical Skills

· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest and percentages

Reasoning Ability

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

· Understands and follows corporate Safety and Compliance Programs

• Understands and complies with operational and personnel policies and procedures
• One year of experience with claims follow up.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two years’ experience with billing and collections for a medical practice
