Job Description
A billing and coding specialist helps the healthcare facility manage insurance claims, invoices, and payments. The day-to-day work of a medical coding and billing specialist includes:
- Properly coding services, procedures, diagnoses, and treatments
- Preparing and sending invoices or claims for payment
- Correcting rejected claims
- Tracking payments
- Following up with patients and insurance companies about outstanding bills
- Perform posting charges
- Perform completion of claims to payers
- Conduct duties in a professional and timely fashion
- Submit billing data to the appropriate insurance providers
- Process claims
- Resolve denial instances
- Achieve maximum reimbursement for services provided
- Deploy, maintain and report on various programs
- Do Medicare reviews
- Conduct audits

Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher
- Minimum of 1 years experience in medical billing or any coding industry
- Proficient in electronic medical records
Will work remote and will work 1-2 days in the office.
