Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for their Adult Education Adjunct Instructor Youth Build position, in the Student and Academic Affairs division. This position is located ATC's (Main Campus), which is just south of Downtown Atlanta/Hartsfiled-Jackson Airport.
T he Medical Assisting instructor is a full-time position within the Medical Assisting Department, Division of Health and Public Safety. This position requires a dynamic personality and a passion for helping others succeed. Responsibilities include delivers class and/or clinical instruction according to an approved course syllabus using accepted and effective teaching methods; develops daily lesson plans; advises and tutors students; maintains current and accurate attendance and grade records; assess student achievement and ensure accuracy of all student records; remains current in applicable program teaching fields; participates in faculty meetings, instructional seminars and in-service training sessions annually. Participates in college activities such as faculty meetings, commencement and convocation activities, new student orientations, and advisory board meetings. The instructor will be instrumental in adhering to the Medical Assisting curriculum and recommends changes regarding textbooks and other aspects of the curriculum. The instructor is also required to comply with Technical College System of Georgia, certificating bodies, accreditation standards as well as institutional policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Associates Degree from an accredited private or public postsecondary college or completion of an equivalent military, medical/hospital based, or company-sponsored training program. Three years paid work experience in healthcare within the past seven (7) year, must include competencies, skills and knowledge levels that the instructor will be able to teach, occupational experience must meet current requirements of appropriate licensing boards for area of instruction. Preferred qualification 40 hours ambulatory care setting performing. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to teach morning and/or evening courses and substitute other classes as needed.
Certifications/Licenses: CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) or NCMA (National Certified Medical Assistant)
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or above. Prior teaching and clinical experience. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
