Medical Assistant/Receptionist - Primary Care

We are a Family Medicine medical practice located in Torrance, CA.

We are currently welcoming applications for a Medical Assistant/Receptionist with a minimum of one year experience to join our team.

Primary Medical Receptionist duties will include but are not limited to:

• Obtaining prior authorizations for diagnostic exams and referrals
• Scheduling diagnostic exams
• Greeting patients in a friendly, professional manner
• Answering, screening, and directing phone calls to appropriate parties without error
• Scheduling appointments
• Reviewing patient registration forms for accuracy and completeness
• Verifying insurances and requesting co-payments
• Scanning documents into patients electronic medical record

Primary Medical Assistant duties will include but are not limited to:

· Preparing and maintaining exam rooms in a clean and orderly manner

· Taking patient chief complaints

· Assisting physicians with a wide range of tasks that are related to patient care

· Contacting pharmacies with new medication and/or order changes as directed

· Giving vaccinations/injections, performing vision tests, audiograms, and EKG’s

Requirements:

· Minimum one year experience as a Medical Assistant/Receptionist preferably in a Family- Medicine setting

· Knowledge of medical terminology

· Electronic Medical Records proficiency, Cerner preferred

· The ability to perform venipuncture preferred

· The desire to work in a fast-paced environment

· The ability to communicate clearly to patients and fellow staff members both verbally and in writing

Educational Requirement:

· A High School Diploma or GED

· A valid Medical Assistant Certificate or Diploma

· A valid CPR or BLS card
