Job Summary:
As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the center. You will support the physicians, technicians, and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.
Duties/Responsibilities:
(95%) Patient Care
- Interviews and assesses patients and documents basic medical history
- Takes vital signs as applicable
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Triage phone calls
- Update and file medical records and insurance reports as applicable
- Arrange hospital admissions and laboratory services as applicable
- Check with patients and type of patient charts and other pertinent information
- Assist during medical examinations and procedures
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one (1) year of Medical Assistant experience or medical secretary experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Medical Assistant certification preferred
