As part of an ongoing commitment to education and community involvement, Hawai‘i Pacific Health offers programs to train individuals for careers in the health care field. We are currently looking for individuals who share the same passion about our mission and have an interest in training to become a Medical Assistant.
The Medical Assistant Program will be a total of eight months in duration. During the first seven months, participants will work as a Clinic Aide while completing didactic and lab sessions. Following successful completion of the didactic and lab sessions, participants will complete the 160-hour internship. After the internship component is completed, participants will be able to sit for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Upon obtaining certification, program participants will be eligible to transfer into a Medical Assistant position. This program will require a two-year work commitment upon successful completion. There will be no time away (PTO) allowed or granted during the training program. Participants must be available to rotate to evening shifts and any shift length (4, 8, 10, or 12 hours) for the duration of the training.

Minimum qualifications: Applicants must have completed one of the clinical training items listed below. If not, please apply to our Clinic Aide Training Program, job ID 24264. Participants who successfully complete the Clinic Aide program can continue to the Medical Assistant program.
- Completion of Nurse Aide or Medical Assistant training program OR
- Completion of fundamentals course from an accredited school of nursing OR
- Military Corpsman certificate OR
- Emergency Medical Technician or Mobile Intensive Care Technician OR
- RN/MD license or RN/MD graduate certificate from a college in a foreign country.
