Summary

The Medical Assistant Process Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily processes of Medical Assistants to ensure efficient and high-quality patient care in a healthcare setting. This role involves managing day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and supporting the professional development of the Medical Assistant team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationship with operations team members, including Practice Managers, Operations Manager, Chief Operating Officer and other health center staff.
  • Communicate effectively, professionally, and in a timely manner with both internal and external constituents, including health center staff and vendors.
  • Oversee the work of Medical Assistants, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and workflow efficiency.
  • Comply with federal and state law and regulations at all times.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and infection control measures.
  • Monitor inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper functioning.
  • Monitor immunization coordinators for compliance of vaccine policy, reports issues to the Practice Manager/Operations Manager in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure equipment is being serviced in accordance to manufacture/policy recommendations.
  • Train new Medical Assistants on procedures, protocols, and software systems.
  • Provide ongoing education and professional development opportunities for the team.
  • Stay updated with advancements in healthcare practices and technology.
  • Maintain knowledge of established organizational policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement program, safety, environment of care, management of information, infection prevention and other standards.
  • Uses available tools to proactively identify issues and offer solutions to practices
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant with additional experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program.
  • Strong knowledge of medical procedures, terminology, and healthcare regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and other medical software.

Experience and Skills:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Proficient with MS Office software, and other computer applications including email and internet
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytic skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated communication and customer service skills
  • Multi-tasking and organization skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience in supply management
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical best Practices
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of MS project and SharePoint preferred.
  • Knowledge of regulatory agencies, including FDA, OSHA, State licensing boards, etc., preferred.
  • Must develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Strong ability to use independent judgment and initiative.
  • Resourcefulness in problem solving.
  • Actively look for ways to help people.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Must be extremely detail oriented.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual skills preferred (English/Spanish or English/Creole)
  • Must develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
