Front Office Medical Assistant job description:
Practice: PMPI is a Tele-Health company operating in the field of Tele-Psychiatry. There is an ever-increasing need for Medical Assistants with knowledge of Tele-Health and many get hired preferentially in this field if they have experience.
Position:CertifiedFront Office MA, with aa associates degree and minimum 2 years experience, Spanish speaking
Essential Functions, Experience and Duties during your rotation:
- Expedite communication between providers and remote clinics and patients efficiently and accurately. Provide prompt and professional communication over the phone, fax, e-mail, and in one-on-one conversations. Our Bakersfield site is a headquarter site which supports remote Tele-Psychiatry sites for clinical work they do. Work with remote clinic MAs and Admin to reduce no-show and cancellation rates.
- Identify the needs of patients in remote clinics and facilitate message responsiveness of our providers, and support back office functions by performing general office duties such as answering phones, reminder calls, checking faxes and voicemails, etc.
- Learn Diagnosis & Psychotropic medications in the field of Mental Health over time with on-job-training. Learn how to read and interpret medical notes of providers. This helps obtain prior authorization for medications. Learn and complete disability forms to assist providers.
- Master the EMR from providers and schedulers standpoint to assist new providers joining the group and newly started clinics.
- Medical Spanish interpretation: Assist doctors and nurses to serve non-English-speaking patients

- Possess excellent computer and typing skills. Ability to work at a computer, in a sitting position for extended periods of time.
- Ability to multi-task in a clinical and administrative environment.
- Ability to take constructive criticism and apply it to improve self and office functions.
Employee Evaluation: After a successful completion of a 90 day introductory period employees will receive performance evaluations from the supervising manager. If successful, the position will be made permanent for the employee.
