Candidate must meet the following requirements:
- Current BLS from the American Heart Association.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- Assists with office based procedures following aseptic techniques, hands off instruments, assists with obtaining, labeling and sending specimens, performs low and high level disinfection procedures, performs POC testing and enters orders.
- Rooms patients and sets up exam & procedure rooms. Responsible for performing routine and more complex clinical duties to include, but not limited to: taking vital signs, administering a limited number of medications, performs simple diagnostic tests, collects specimens, draws blood, sterilization and cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms in an outpatient care setting.
- Assists physicians and APP's with patients, equipment preparation, aseptic technique and surgical procedures in the exam/procedure room. Prepares the exam/ procedure room by assembling routine supplies, materials, instruments and equipment; obtains special supplies indicated by physician. Assists in the preparation, transportation, and positioning of patients for the procedure and provides for the physical comfort, safety, and privacy of the patient during the procedure.
- Observes patients for possible symptoms which may indicate a change in condition and reports to appropriate member of medical team for immediate action. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the principles of sterile technique and infection control; practices appropriate procedures to maintain a sterile environment. Chaperone and assists patient examinations. Performs accurate POC testing.
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and one year of medical assisting experience preferred. Certification from one of the following national organizations below as a Certified Medical Assistant. Successful completion of orientation and competency validation for independently preparing for and assisting with all Department specific procedures and POC testing.

- The grade and salary of the position are based on specific criteria met within the qualifications of relevant experience, skills, performance and internal equity.
- This position is eligible for shift differentials.
