Medical Assistant - Primary Care - Torrance, Ca

We have two open positions for Medical Assistant for this new Primary Care Practice in Torrance.

Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain the appointment calendar
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or fees
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to appropriate staff members
- Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
- Assist with medical administrative support tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers or specialists as needed
- Assist with basic medical procedures such as taking vital signs, administering medications, or performing X-rays (if certified)
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality

Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a hospital or medical setting preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient care
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in medical administrative support tasks such as coding and billing
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
