The Waltzman Institute is a world-class facility of Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics located in Long Beach, CA. Our practice was founded in 2015 by Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Josh Waltzman and recently moved to our newly built facility in January 2023. We are currently accepting applications for an experienced Medical Assistant. We are looking for a Medical Assistant with a shared passion for individualized patient care and superior customer service skills. The ideal candidate would have experience working at a spa, Plastic Surgery practice, aesthetic practice, or a dermatology office.
The position has the following requirements:
- Uphold a Medical Assistant certificate from an accredited school
- Excellent communication skills and highly capable of working on a team
- Motivated to learn new skills and grow with the practice
- Must be well-organized, hardworking, efficient, punctual, and prioritize customer service and individualized patient care
- Knowledgeable and articulate, obtains a great understanding of Medical Assistant job responsibilities
- Has a strong interest in Plastic Surgery, Aesthetics and Cosmetic Medicine
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to multi-task efficiently
Preferred skills, but not required:
- Minimum of 1 year in Plastic Surgery or Dermatology practice
- Experience using Nextech software
- Experience with before and after patient photography
- Confident in answering phones, scheduling appointments, processing payments, and administrative tasks
This position requires both Front Office and Back Office responsibilities, including but not limited to the following:
Back Office: Rooming patients, taking vitals, basic patient charting, set up and clean up of in-office procedures, stocking inventory and organization of supplies, prepping exam rooms and necessary equipment, sterilizing tools, photographing patient before and after’s.
Front Office: Answering phones, scheduling appointments, greeting patients, patient in-take, processing payments, accurate upkeep of patient data and demographics, variety of administrative tasks including filing, scanning, faxing, copying, mailing, etc.
