Summary of Position
Midtown Dermatology is seeking a back office Registered Medical Assistant. The full-time position will consist of working side by side with our providers. You will support doctor/physician assistant and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, documentation, and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Working in clinic with provider
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Give lab results, return calls, send in prescriptions
- Organize and schedule appointments for exams, work-ins, and procedures
- Scribe for providers during medical exams
- Arrange lab services
- Update patients charts
- Assist during medical examinations
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Experience working in a medical office (outpatient) setting is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with Providers, colleagues, and patients are a must
Skills
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and electronic medical charting system
Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program preferred
- Certification as a registered/certified Medical Assistant is a plus
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures
- Proficient in computer skills, including electronic health records systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Education:
- High school or equivalent
License/Certification:
- MR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
- Registered/Certified Medical Assistant Certificate (Preferred)
