Reputable, fast growing, Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Outpatient Practice is looking to hire a full-time Medical Assistant Monday through Friday. Candidates must have outpatient office experience, as well as medical terminology.
Job Description
This position is primarily responsible for helping examine and treat patients under the direction of the Physician or Nurse Practitioner by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Ensure cleanliness of patients' waiting area and front office area.
- Perform all required triage duties (vitals, height/weight, etc.)
- Direct patients to available examination rooms.
- Ensure rooms are set up and cleaned after each patient encounter
- Replenish supplies in the exam rooms.
- Ensure patient flow is efficient and organized.
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts.
- Gives injections
- Schedules appointments, keeps x-ray and other medical records, performs secretarial tasks, and completes insurance forms.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Understanding of the concepts of universal precautions, HIPAA, and OSHA
- Team player who is equally comfortable working independently
- Warm, friendly attitude with excellent patient interaction skills
- Excellent verbal and communication skills, adaptable in different situations, possesses excellent client interaction skills, and able to multi-task.'
