Medical Assistant

URGENTLY HIRING! Pediatric office is seeking a FULL-TIME Medical Assistant in Western MA. Candidate must be willing to perform both administrative and clinical job duties. Candidate must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
What you will do..

• Ensure HIPAA and OSHA guidelines are followed at all times
• Room the patients, review medical history, take vitals, and enter them into EMR system
• Perform CLIA-waved laboratory tests
• Assist providers during examinations and treatments
• Administer and document vaccinations from newborns to adulthood
• Clean and reorganize exam rooms after each patient
• Maintain supply inventory
• Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, etc
• Create and update telephone encounters when reporting and responding to patients’ medical concerns and requests; forward to appropriate staff and medical providers.
• Schedule referral appointments and perform insurance referrals
• Obtain prior authorizations for medications and procedures when needed
• Produce and distribute correspondence letters, faxes and forms
• Verify insurance eligibility
• Incoming and outgoing faxes
• Work on medical records release requests
• Check in and out patients
• Other duties assigned by office manager

Candidate MUST be:

• Able to work on Friday weekly and random Saturday (once a month or once every other month for half a day only)
• Able to stay late after 5:00 pm on a busy schedule day
• Team player
• Certification or License in Medical Assisting

Covid Vaccination - Candidates will be required to provide proof of vaccination.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
