PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Assists physician by performing and documenting initial assessment of patients; administering medications and injections as directed under supervision of physician; and by performing other venipuncture and lab procedures as required.
Educational and/or Professional Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Certificate of completion from a Medical Assistant program. CPR required.
Experience: Minimum of one year clinical experience in a physician office setting.
Special Skills/Knowledge: Possess the tact to deal effectively with patients, visitors, doctors and other staff.
Equipment and Materials Knowledge: Medical equipment as it relates to patient care; Computer equipment needed to assigned duties; safety equipment.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift using proper body mechanics.
