Endoscopy Technician / GI Tech
Medical Assistant - Gastroenterology
We have an immediate need for a GI Tech at a very prestigious Ambulatory Surgery Centers in Manhattan, NY .
(GI Tech Supervisor role also available for candidate with requisite experience)
Must be willing to work 40 hours per week,
5 days/week, 8 hours shifts, between the hours of 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday.
Requirements of the Endoscopy Technician.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Endoscopy Tech or Medical Assistant with similar experience
- Solid experience with scope reprocessing is required
- Solid team player
- Commitment to providing excellent patient service and professionalism
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Up to date BLS certification through American Heart Association
Responsibilities of the Endoscopy Technician;
- Reprocessing scopes
- Assisting in procedures
- Setting up patient procedure rooms
- Assisting the clinical team in delivering high quality professional care while achieving optimal patient satisfaction
- Prepare patients for treatment|
- Monitor patient during and after procedure
- Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and state and federal law

Back Office
- Rooms patients utilizing best practice MA workflow and maintains patient flow per schedule.
- Anticipates patient care needs and consults with provider as needed.
- Documents patient information collected, care given and treatment provided as well as charges in a clear and concise manner in EMR.
- Assists with patient phone messages/tasks and documents in EMR. Conducts callbacks per provider instruction in an efficient and timely manner, while maintaining proper telephone etiquette.
- Organizes, stocks and maintains an orderly, clean and uncluttered work area, including but not limited to exam rooms, procedure rooms and patient care areas.
- Maintains current knowledge of clinical policies and procedures.
- Assists with procedures and administers medications within the MA scope of practice and per provider orders.
- Adheres to all safety standards, including but not limited to, equipment maintenance, infection control, universal precautions and use of personal protective equipment as needed for all patient care procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge of medications, waste disposal and sterile techniques.
- Attends and actively participates in mandatory clinical/business department meetings/in-services, staff meetings and assigned committees.
- Responds to and participates in all medical emergencies and codes.
Must have a valid MA Diploma/Certificate
CPR Certification
Previous EMR experience required|
Previous GI experience highly preferred

- Gastroenterology: 2 years (Required)
- EMR systems: 2 years (Preferred)
- Endoscopy: 2 years (Required)
- Medical Assisting: 2 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
- Certified Medical Assistant (Required)
Shift availability:
- Day Shift (Preferred)
