You are a caring and dedicated professional who has a passion for providing mental health services. To do this, you will have a working knowledge of the mental health, drug, and alcohol treatment system. You'll be at the forefront of contact with clients that are both requesting and needing nursing services throughout the organization. You will possess a HSD/GED and have previous experience working as a Medical Assistant.
In this role you will regularly use various computer apps including Microsoft Office, our HRIS, EHR and other online systems, with multiple logins often simultaneously.
You have the ability to obtain an Ohio Driver's License, maintain auto insurance, earn CPR/First Aid certification, and be willing to submit to background check and fingerprinting.

Under the guidance of the Director of Medical Services, you will partner closely with clinical service providers, the medical team, and other staff members to understand and address individuals' needs related to medical services and medication management. You will engage clients with care and support without requiring close oversight. You have an interest in learning the engagement phases of services, and the ability to work with clients that have high resistance and denial or impairment due to chronic mental illness and/or substance abuse disorder dependency.
- You will receive, manage and route phone calls, messages and/or concerns. Maintain relationships with clients and family members by answering medical questions, policies, and procedures.
- Act as the first point of contact for Clients by capturing necessary information to help facilitate medical appointments and ensure that patients receive warm hand offs to providers.
- Verify patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, confirming purpose of visit, vitals, and any appropriate diagnostic testing.
- You will partner with nursing and other staff members in regards to clients needing follow-up appointments, medication refills, experiencing symptom changes, etc.
- Help maintain provider caseloads by providing outreach to clients that have not been seen within 90 days of services to re-engage clients via 10 day closing letter and phone call.
- You may work with hospital liaison and nursing staff to coordinate med somatic appointments with appropriate providers at hospital discharge within a 2 week time period to ensure timely medication refills. Complete prior authorizations with MCO's, Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurances for Client medications in a timely manner to help expedite clients access to medication.
- Comply with state and federal patient confidentiality requirements in regards to HIPPA.
