We are a busy Otolaryngology/ENT practice in search of a full-time ExperiencedMedical Assistant / LPN for our in person position; travel will be required between our three locations in Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, and Harbour View

Past experience in covering a physician(s) is required.
This is a Monday through Friday position. 8am.- 5pm. Travel between our three locations is a requirement.
No weekends or holidays.
Certified Medical Assistant or LPN is required.
- Ability to take a history on all patients when putting them in the exam room which includes their chief complaint in the EMR. Including update the patients medical history, current medications, pharmacy and current PCP.
- Addressing patient messages by the end of the day. Phone in prescriptions as needed when assisting the triage department.
- The assistant will report to work at least 30 minutes before the doctor starts seeing patients to prepare the exam rooms. Ensuring all instruments are cleaned and sterilized. Use of autoclave and suction canisters as well as monitoring CIDEX expiration.. Restocking of supplies daily.
- Remove surgical packing, splints, sutures and staples according to doctors orders. Send out specimens when necessary and fill out appropriate forms. Assist with office procedures as needed, making sure to obtain proper consent form.
- Coordinate appointments for cancer patients and educate them as to postoperative care (i.e.-Speech therapy, radiation therapy, peg tubes, etc.).
- Inform the physicians of any schedule changes ASAP. Monitor and dispose of expired medications as needed. The assistant will escort the last patient out of the building and lock the door if they are the last patient remaining.
- Monitor supplies and submit in writing to supervisor any supply needs.
- Travel to other offices for coverage as needed (Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, & Harbour View- Suffolk)
- Knowledge of FMLA paperwork to complete request for patients as needed.
- This position will also train to assist with surgery scheduling and with allergy injections on a part-time/prn basis.
