Glaser Dermatology located in Massapequa seeks a full-time Medical Assistant, working 36-40 hrs per week over 4 days:
Monday Thru Thursday 8:30am - 5:30-6pm
We see patients of all ages (adult and pediatric) and evaluate skin conditions including acne, rashes and growths. We perform skin cancer screenings, cosmetic procedures, photodynamic therapy, and dermatologic surgery. Medical assistant experience is strongly preferred. Candidates with or without experience in dermatology will undergo extensive on-the-job training in all aspects of the position.
This position is ideal for a dynamic, energetic, and personable caregiver who enjoys interacting with patients and providing patient education. Our modestly sized dermatology practice provides for a smaller, non-corporate setting where every member of our friendly and hard-working team is valued.
Also on staff are our Mohs surgeon, board-certified dermatologist, physician assistant, nurses, and other Medical Assistants.
Medical Assistant job responsibilities include:
- Assisting the provider with skin examinations, biopsies and other procedures
- Patient intake and charting
- Patient education
- Assisting with administrative and logistical processes to ensure optimal work flow
- Following HIPAA protocols
- Setting up sterile fields, assisting during surgery, suture removals, and applying surgical dressings
- Communicating test results and other information with our patients
- Maintaining medical supplies and equipment; instrument care
- Handling of tissue biopsy and culture specimens
- Assisting with electronic prescription submittals
- Coordinating patient care
