Western North Carolina Community Health (WNCCHS) has (2) Train to be a Medical Assistant roles. Candidate(s) will be hired and paid to complete 6-week Medical Assistant program and will be required to pass NHA exam. This is a partnership with Blue Ridge Community College. Upon successful completion of the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) course, the candidate(s) will be offered work assignments at Minnie Jones Health Center in Asheville.
The MA Trainee will work under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider to perform various clinical and administrative tasks. The trainee will be responsible for taking patient histories, preparing patients for exams, assisting with procedures, administering medications, and performing basic laboratory tests. The trainee will also be responsible for maintaining patient records, scheduling appointments, and performing other administrative duties as assigned. The trainee will receive on-the-job training and will be expected to complete a Medical Assistant training program within a specified timeframe.

- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Must complete 6-week CCMA course upon hire and pass NHA exam at end of course.
- What will you do as a Medical Assistant?
- Provide patient care in the primary care community health care setting.
- Ability to assist nursing and medical staff with routine examinations and patient treatments.
Pay during training $17.70 per hour - upon completion $18.00-$19.00 per hour.
Work Schedules are Monday – Friday.
