TruBlu HR Solutions is seeking a Medical Assistant for a hospital in the Austin area The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant working with pediatric patients Must have an active Medical Assistant and BLS certification. Responsibilities include rooming and preparing patients for provider examination, collecting health histories and chief complaints, collecting and documenting vital signs, BMI, and height/weight, administering immunizations and injections, documenting current medications and allergies, collecting patient specimens for laboratory testing, call in and/or send electronic prescription refills, keeping rooms stocked with supplies, and coordinating patient care. Bilingual in English and Spanish and experience with EPIC is preferred. Must have experience giving injections to pediatric patients.
Skills/Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate from a Medical Assistant or emergency medical technician program or other documentation from the licensing authority confirming that Medical Assistant/emergency technician education is not a requirement for certification.
- BLS certification
- 2+ years of experience
- Pediatric experience, must have experience with injections on kids
- EPIC experience
- Must have one of the following Certifications or Registrations:
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-A)
- Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT-B)
- Emergency Medical Technician – Intermediate (EMT-I)
- Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (EMT-P)
- Licensed Paramedic
- Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
- Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- Knowledge of nursing/Medical Assistant patient care tasks, the managed care industry, appointment scheduling, related medical terminology and customer service concepts
- The ability to operate proficiently a personal computer and basic clinic/patient care, office equipment
