Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or payments
- Maintain patient records and update information as needed
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate department
- Provide administrative support such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient care and scheduling
- Assist with front desk duties including managing incoming and outgoing mail
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a medical receptionist or administrative role preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to provide excellent patient service
- Proficient in medical scheduling software (e.g., Epic) and other office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
