POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a highly motivated Medical Assistant to provide assistance with various healthcare services in the pain management following established policies and protocols including but not limited to conducting routine lab studies, obtaining specimens and assisting with administrative functions. The Medical Assistant functions as a member of the clinical team performing a supportive role in the delivery of patient care that is safe, effective, client-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable. The Medical Assistant will be intaking patients for of vital sings, assisting providers with office procedures, working charts for upcoming appointments, greet and arrive patients, collect co-payments, schedule return appointments and assist patient with information of all order and referral.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Helps maintain compliance and patient schedule for Physician
  • Greets patients and collections patient information
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Prepare patients for treatments and procedures that the provider may perform. The MA will prepare client for practitioner observation or procedure.
  • Facilitate patient care assessment by checking client vital signs (pulse, blood pressure, breathing rate and temperature), asks client about previous health data, surgical history, any medical condition and allergies to obtain the patient’s medical history.
  • Clean and maintain instruments and medical equipment
  • The MA records data from monitoring & tracking systems such as medication refrigeration, sterilization devices and any findings in the client charts and notifies the provider of the results
  • Maintains and submits in a timely manner concise documentation related to patient care.
  • Conduct inventory of all medical, office supplies & medications and order any of these supplies that need to be replenished
  • Follows all protocols as required by Health Resources and Services Administration
  • Assists Physician with daily administrative duties related to patient care meets and communicates effectively with all staff, patients and vendors
  • Provide patient education as directed by the doctor or other providers
  • All other duties as assigned by manager

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred Certified Medical Assistant certification
  • 1-2 years progressive MA experience or similar work environment
  • Prior clinical experienced preferred
  • Strong & excellent customer service, organization, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Able to to work collaboratively with health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact, diplomacy, and discipline
  • Strong social media management, computer aptitude, which includes expertise in database software; Internet software; Electronic Health Records, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Ability to lead by example and to represent Texas Intergrative Pain Institute professionally in the community
  • Ability to network & form professional relationships with client/consumer population members and establish professional relationships with corporations, academic institutions, faith communities, and service organizations
  • Maintains medical clinic policies and procedures including but not limited to HIPPA, patient consent and patients rights.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement & timely decisions
