Certified Medical Assistant (Triage/Administrative)
Type: temp to hire
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, must be able to work one late night/week (until 5:30/6pm)
Requirements:
- Certified Medical Assistant certification
- BLS certification
- At least 1-2 years of clinical Medical Assistant experience
- At least one year of triage experience
- Must be comfortable with Triaging over the phone
- At least one year of medical administrative/front desk experience OR open to being cross-trained
- Experience working in internal medicine or pediatrics strongly preferred
- EMR experience
- Experience working with E-Clinical Works a plus
- Experience administering immunizations required
- Strong technical computer skills - able to document information from calls
- Must be comfortable speaking to patients over the phone
Position Details:
- Busy 4 provider internal medicine and pediatrics practice;
- Will mostly be triage patients over the phone,
- Only filling in for clinical MAs when need
- Managing the fax queue
- Documenting information and responding accordingly
- Managing ACO work/call list
- Contacting patients, interviewing them over the phone/triaging
- Deciding if they need to be seen for a visit
- Putting in for medication/prescription renewals if needed (managing medication adherence)
- Identifying why they have missed appointments of stopped taking medications
- MAs triage patients, recording vitals and performing screening tests, administering immunizations and other injections, performing EKGs, assisting physician with any other patient care
- Communicate with patients and other medical offices via phone and web, manipulate all types of data within the EMR system (eClnical Works), work as a team member with other clinical staff
