We are looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team of primary care professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting medical screenings, collecting patient data, and providing basic patient education. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with a variety of patients in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform health screenings for patients.
- Provide patient education on preventive care and health maintenance.
- Assist in referring patients to specialists for further evaluation or treatment.
- Maintain accurate records of all screenings performed.
- Helps patients by providing information, services, and assistance.
- Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, height, weight, and vital signs, and confirming the purpose of visit.
- Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure.
- Saves doctors’ time by helping with office procedures.
- Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing procedure coding; and keeping patient information confidential.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, requesting orders, and restocking.
- Assist in keeping equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and informing management of needed repairs.
- Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
