Provides advanced medical office clerical support and assist medical center staff in providing medical or technical procedures that include, but not limited to: taking vital signs, graphing height, weight, blood-pressure, giving injections and assisting with patient flow. Performs duties requiring high-level problem solving and critical thinking. Provides training and mentoring to other staff members.
Education
• High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
• Completion of a course of study consistent with the requirement for Medical Assistants as specified by the Medical Board of California required
Experience
• 1 year of healthcare clerical/administrative support experience required
• 2 years of healthcare clerical/administrative support experience preferred
Licenses and Certifications
• BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
• CMA - Certified Medical Assistant preferred
